When choosing beds you are attempting to understand the best mattress dimensions for you. Here are some factors to look at. The number of people sleeping in it, your height, and the space in your bedroom to accommodate the bed comfortably, as some of the common factors. Many people know mattresses are available in sizes from twin to king but there are few more in middle. The thickness of many mattresses lies between 6-18 inches but there are few more sizes.

There is the regular twin mattress, the twin XL which is 5 inches longer, the full size mattress, and the full size XL, both of which give you 5 inches more. Mattresses longer than this are good for taller people.

The most popular one is the standard queen size bed, which is widely used if there is more than a single person sharing the bed. The queen mattress is not the end as bigger than it is the expanded queen or the Olympic queen, which is 6 inches wider than the standard queen, which is 60 inches wide. A California queen is a queen-sized waterbed made in wood. Though not widely used it is still available and is 60 inches wide but is 4 inches longer.

It is not the end of mattress dimensions since there are king size if you have spacious bedrooms in your house. The standard king size mattress is gigantic 76×80 in dimension.

But if it doesn’t meet your requirements then there are bigger one. There is the California king mattress which is a slightly narrower but longer.

Lastly, the granddaddy of all mattresses is the Grand King measuring a staggering 80×98. Now that you have decided on your mattress dimensions you should be very observant when purchasing sheets for that bed. If you buy standard twin sheets and use them on a twin XL, they will fall short by about 5 inches.
